Server and IT Engineer Position PDF Print E-mail

We are seeking  a Server and IT Engineer to join our M2M (Machine to Machine) and Production IT teams. We provide remote telemetry devices that are installed inside systems like vending machines to reports sales and inventory information over the cellular network to a host server.  You will design and implement the data collection, control and monitoring server applications that interface to those remote devices.  We currently have more than 70,000 devices in the field and we are looking for someone with the system architecture and database design experience to take us to 150,000, to 500,000 to a million devices.  In addition to software development as a member of our production IT team, you will help set up and maintain our production system.  As part of that you will be on call for 2 weeks out of every 4 weeks.  You will be responsible for resolving problems in our live production applications at the system, application, network and mobile carrier levels.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of Microsoft .NET Framework development experience.  Specifically direct experience with ADO.NET (LINQ-to-SQL, Datasets) .NET Windows services, ASP.NET,  Web Services, and WCF
  • Leadership in the technical design, implementation and release of a server application or service
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 development
  • Fluent in software fundamentals including software design, algorithm development, data structures, code modularity and maintainability
  • Understanding of the following technologies and processes within a production environment: Windows servers, custom applications, databases, networking, IT operations, IT security, and remote access
  • Ability to establish and follow procedures that ensure the accuracy, integrity, and security of the systems, applications, databases and networks maintained on our production information network
